OVERVIEW

Our Degree Transfer Extended Design (Architecture) program is tailored to prepare you for Year 2 of the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at the University of Newcastle. It provides a pathway into one of Australia’s best design schools. Your offer is also packaged with Master of Architecture to give you the option of practising as a professional architect upon graduation.

You will complete Work Integrated Learning (WIL) as part of your degree. More than half of your design courses in the bachelor’s degree are spent in the architecture studio.

Pathway

In your first semester of your Degree Transfer Extended program, you will study a bridging program consisting of five courses: Academic English, Accounting, Economics, Commercial Law Fundamentals and Statistics. You will then go on to study the same curriculum as the Year 1 bachelor’s degree university students plus Academic English A and B, and receive 80 credit points for the Bachelor of Design (Architecture).

Upon successful completion of the Degree Transfer Extended Design (Architecture) program, you will enter Year 2 of the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at the University of Newcastle.
